Quiconque (meaning “anyone”), Marcus Maeder’s second musical offering, crosses the border of the inside-outside "world". As with anything "intentional", this may be a reference for further development. Narrative in style, the pieces on this record seek to balance feelings such as empty, vain yearnings against a more abstract reaching out for a musical voice. Dark drones are cut against abrasive digital distortion; a multi-layered organic atmosphere meets "free-jazz" digitals or cut-up rhythms, functioning as hyperlinks connecting the resonating void. Though the overall mood on this CD is somewhat somber, a little halo of light can be seen peeking around these personal tales.
